Peak K9 Wellness started out with me just wanting to spend more time with my dog, Jake. I started with just learning to groom Jake myself. Once I got better at it, my friends started asking me to groom their dogs, or Jake's friends, too. So I did. I eventually learned to clean Jake's teeth, and the same thing happened with more friends wanting me to clean their dogs’ teeth, and so I did that as well. I eventually got a job working at a pet store, learning more about everything a dog needs including food, nutrition, play time, exercise, and how to train dogs better. (I had been training my own dogs since I was very young). After I had learnt all I could from the pet store, I also volunteered at a vet clinic and gained even more knowledge about dogs and their overall health. Once I decided I had enough information and confidence, I wanted to continue with my own business and let it grow. I began offering grooming, teeth cleaning, adventure hiking and dog walking to anyone that would chat with me at local dog parks in Surrey BC.I was working out of my own house bathroom in Surrey at the time and doing some mobile grooming, too. My client base expanded as my skills and knowledge grew.

I moved into a new location and my little business ended up in a basement closet, not much of an upgrade but there was more space and I didn't have to move everything and put it all away once i was done every day. My client base grew as my skills and knowledge grew more and more.

Eventually I moved to Edmonton, Alberta and focused more on mobile grooming. I met a lot of wonderful people and their furry friends, which I loved looking forward to seeing them monthly for their nail trims/grooming. I really enjoyed my time here in Edmonton with all these lovely clients but life moves on and I met a man.

I got married and moved to Edson, Alberta, and the business moved again, and this time into a basement. I set up a room where I could do all of my grooming right from home. The word slowly started to spread and soon I was busy again, doing mainly grooming and teeth cleaning to begin. Skip forward a few years and the business grew even more, thanks to all my wonderful loyal customers and their awesome furry babies. I decided it was time to change and grow into the business I have always dreamt of being. It was time to move upstairs, so we fully renovated and set up a retail shop and grooming solon upstairs and made it a separate part of the house now. I am better able to keep my home and work separate, mostly the hair, now. I am now currently offering Dog Training, Teeth Cleaning, Grooming, Dog Walking and Dog Food, Treats, Bones, Chews and a new line of Peak K9 Wellness Apparel and Dog beds made by my very own mother who is a retired grandmother.

My vision for Peak K9 Wellness is to offer nothing but the very best of everything for your dog. To be a one stop shop, that you can trust to give you the best advice, service, care and supplies that you need. I only carry the very best products that I also give my very own dogs as well. I make sure to test all of my products and services on my own dogs before offering them to yours. If it does not pass the ‘Grace and Jake approval test’, it does not make the cut. I strive to only offer and sell, local and Canadian made products as much as possible that is of the highest quality. I am also a fierce bargain shopper myself and try to offer high quality products at great prices.
